In preparing for, conducting, and following-up on this meeting, remember that the objectives are to:
• Communicate the decision in a clear, consistent and professional manner
• Present the decision as irrevocable
• Demonstrate dignity and respect
• Maintain confidentiality
• Describe outplacement support and encourage employee to participate
• Allow the employee to react
• Offer support and compassion
• Encourage the employee to take positive actions
